If you’ve read my review of iFi’s excellent iPurifier 3 you’ll already know my thoughts about audio noise and how to go about fixing it. The thing with noise is that it potentially comes from many different sources, so one device is unlikely to cover all the bases in your system.
Fortunately, we have companies like iFi that make noise cancelling devices like Nike make shoes. Ok, maybe not quite as prolifically, but if you have a noise problem in your system, iFi will likely have a gadget to fix it.
Speaking of which, I’ve been testing two different noise cancellers that iFi and AudioExchange were kind enough to send me: the miniscule iSilencer 3, and only slightly larger DC iPurifier 2. Both have their place in the chain, which I’ll shortly explain, and both have the potential to help you with very specific noise issues, should you have them.
