It turns out the DD C-2020 case was exactly the case I needed all along. The C-2019, good as it is, was just too small to keep everything I needed in one place. Since I tend to baby my gear, that means keeping my 64 Audio IEMs in their original hard case, alongside my DAP, and I couldn’t do that with the C-2019 case.
The C-2020 is almost custom-made for that purpose, although if you’re less fussy about keeping your IEMs boxed up, you can use the case to carry two DAPs or a DAP and portable amp, along with two or three IEMs, spare cables, and even some additional smaller devices like Bluetooth transmitters or dongles.
That said, I’m now finding the C-2019 case is great for just packing my DAP and a cheaper pair of IEMs on the go, so it makes a good complement for the C-2020 case, which normally stays at home, next to my bed.
As such, it’s not so much a case of either or when it comes to DD’s new case, and I can easily recommend getting both for the asking price.
